Spring has finally arrived and I’m excited! (Though as I write this, Environment Canada has reported a 20-30cm snow fall warning for the city of Edmonton.) The going within and hibernation is over; newness abounds. I am certain this is my favourite season of the year. I sense the qualities of a cleansed mind, body and soul. There’s a tangible hunger in the air and a desire to experience life in a whole new way–such as adding more yum to life.
Suffice it to say, I’ve experienced my share of hardship and now I’m at a period in my life where all things favourable have begun to unearth. It really is up to you and I to take as much duty and care of our own existence. Yes sh*t happens that is outside our control but for the most part we do have a pretty big say. Therefore I propose we all make a long list of things that bring the mmm to our minds and act on it.
My list of mmm looks like this…reading a great book in a nice steaming hot bubble bath, candles lit and blues music playing in the foreground. Pillow talk with the one I’m connected to and care for deeply. Spontaneous trips to the mountains with limited luggage and my kayak in tow. Flat bread home made pizza, with pesto sauce, prosciutto, tomato, arugula and smoky cheese…mmmmm.
What wets your appetite? When do you make time for such things? Can you taste life in the now or do you need to wait until all the chores and to do’s are accomplished?
This Spring my intention is to experience more joy, take ample moments to pause or nap and dance like nobody’s watching (like I’ve done numerous times in my kitchen!) What will you decide to manufacture in the days, months to come? More yuck or more yum?
