Madly in Love with Me by Christine Arylo

by Carolyn Collin November 15, 2015

Christine Arylo is a self love guru on a mission with assisting individuals in becoming their own best friend. I held a Self-Discovery Group around this book and noticed how great a need there is for this concept. What you’ll find are ideas on how to facilitate self love and nurturing in your own life.

Note, there are many different facets or branches to self love. The author illustrates this concept through the self love tree which I found to be my biggest take away. Every branch represents an aspect of self love whether it be the branch of expression, honour & respect, pleasure and esteem etc.  We are called to nurture each branch in order for the roots of our self love tree to remain strong and balanced. To this end we are less likely to be impacted by negative forces outside our control.

This little book offers many activities and self rating exercises to gauge where you’re at personally in order to make the necessary changes to grow self love.

Happy reading!

Have You Filled a Bucket Today? by Carol McCloud

by Carolyn Collin May 15, 2016

Here’s a sweet little book to remind kids and adults (e’hem, cough, cough) how to be kind by filling up others “invisible” buckets. The idea is that we all create positive and negative experiences from time to time thereby either filling up others bucket with good or taking away from others.

We’ve all had these situations where some shiny, smily, soul comes along and just makes us feel on top of the World and then the opposite is true for other souls. It is up to us to decide how we want to show up for people and even for ourselves. If you give yuck to someone, you may experience the same back. Thankfully not all people respond in kind but those that respond in a hurtful manner are only giving you what they have inside. Its not about you.

If you have young impressionable minds at home, this is a darling little read to share with your loved ones. We all play apart in making humanity a better place. Be that person who fills others buckets with joy, love, hope and possibility!

Radical Self Love by Gala Darling

by Carolyn Collin June 15, 2016

After facilitating this past weeks SOULsisters™ Retreat it solidified in me how much our society needs Self-love material. Thank goodness for the many Self-love Gurus already paving the way out there and teaching the principles found on the topic of complete “Self-Care.” Dare I say, this should be a mandatory subject in our school systems!

I picked up this book a month ago and started reading it last week. The book is broken into 3 parts: “Loving yourself, where it all begins; Loving others, takes what you learned about self-love and expands it out into the universe; Daily Magic, tips for making your world a more magical place.” Now, you might be wondering why I would recommend an unfinished book at this point? In light of the recent extreme violent acts in Orlando, United States, I feel it’s an ab-soul-ute must. A properly nurtured mind and soul could not, nor would not want to carry out these hostile attacks. Its time we take a stand….a stand to love.

People can only give out what’s inside them. I pray for an extreme love movement to take place on our planet. Enough with the hate and blame! We can’t expect certain people, places, and cultures not to retaliate if we are also guilty of doing the same darn thing. No matter how you look at it. Anger begets anger…period.

Nelson Mandela, and Mahatma Ghandi demonstrated this clear understanding as well as the Dalai Lama. My own meditation Guru used to say all the time, “no love for you, no love for anyone else.” We must all be the change we wish to see in the World. If you see a brother or a sister hurting, I feel it’s your duty for “humanity’s sake” to assist in any way you can—big or small. You never know what affect you could have on that person and in turn our “society” as a whole. Saying that, there is the opposite, you never know what would happen if you turned a blind eye. We see this all the time in the news. There are a lot of people yearning for connection and belonging out there.

This book outlines the way to love and care for yourself and then how to love and care for the World at large. I am so passionate about this topic, that I am making it my mission to teach others until the day I make my transition. The World needs each and everyone one of us to get out there and be love and light workers. Please join me by sharing this book with others.
